ARLS 50th Anniversary Community Archive Initiative

In honor of our 50th Anniversary, we are launching a Community Archive Initiative. We invite you to contribute artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia that reflect the rich history of our community and the role of our library system over the past fifty years. Contributed items will be digitized for preservation and future exploration.

What to Contribute:

● Photographs: Old photos of community events, landmarks, schools, and businesses.
● Documents: Letters, diaries, and records providing community insights.
● Memorabilia: Event programs, tickets, flyers, and souvenirs.
● Oral Histories: Personal stories and memories of significant events.
● Media: Audio recordings, video recordings, and films.
● Genealogical Information: Family trees and genealogical records.
Please provide labels, descriptions, and context for all materials, including dates, names, and
locations. Items can be submitted in physical or digital formats. For more information about the
Community Archive Initiative, contact Jeanie Langford at jlangford@arls.org or 804-458-6329.
