Story Time

The Appomattox Regional Library System hosts its story time series throughout the year.  Join us for an entertaining and educational time of books, songs, and rhymes.

While we are unable to offer you and your family fun and exciting programs in our buildings, please be sure to  checkout our programs on our Facebook page and YouTube page.

Story time program aims to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children. Activities in story time promote brain and language development for children from birth to age 5. At story time, children and caregivers are introduced to six early literacy skills that are essential for learning to read including print motivation, narrative skills, phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge, and print awareness.

As of March 2020, all of our in person story times have been moved online. Please visit our Facebook page and our YouTube page where we have crafts, stories read by staff, and more.
