Story Time

The Appomattox Regional Library System hosts its story time series throughout the year. Join us for an entertaining and educational half-hour of books, songs, and rhymes. Check the Explore and event calendar for specific dates and closings!

While we are unable to offer you and your family fun and exciting programs in our buildings, please be on the lookout for programs on our Facebook page and YouTube page.

A story time for babies and their caretakers. A great introduction for you and your new family member to the wonderful world of books, rhymes, and songs. For babies ages birth to 24 months old, this is limited to 15 babies and will last approximately 30 minutes.

Story time program aims to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children. Activities in story time promote brain and language development for children from birth to age 5. At story time, children and caregivers are introduced to six early literacy skills that are essential for learning to read including print motivation, narrative skills, phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge, and print awareness.
