This exhibit is divided into two themes, and will exhibit in two locations:

Hopewell –   “A Dream Deferred: Visions Of Change And Renewal.”
Prince George – “Sweet Home Virginia: Visions Of Change And Renewal.”

Both are on display February 1 through February 27.

Photographer Sharon Heyward is drawn to “crumbling brick walls, abandoned houses, decaying doors and buildings” she saw in her daily life. Through her photographs she reveals the beauty of places that still stand despite the decay, and refuse to be forgotten. She connects the adversity and perseverance these buildings reveal to that of her own experience as an African American growing up in Newark, NJ.  Ms. Heyward currently resides in Hopewell.
