ARLS Poster Contest

ARLS Poster Contest! June-July 2014

Kids and teens are invited to design a poster promoting library card sign up month (September) 2014. Why do you love your library? Why do you think everyone should have a library card? What is the best thing about being able to borrow items from the library? What does the library mean to you?


Be creative and design a fun, colorful poster promoting your library! A winner will be chosen in each of the three following age categories:

Up to age 6

Ages 7-12

Ages 13-18

Posters will be displayed in various branches of the library during the month of September to promote the library. Winners will receive a bag of library goodies and a Books-A-Million Gift Card!

Contest Rules:

  • The artist must be no older than age 18.

  • The entry must be the student’s original artwork, not a reproduction from another

  • source, not computer generated, and created without assistance from others.
  • The entry must be flat for reproduction purposes with no pasting of objects.

  • The entry must be letter-sized (8.5” x 11”) with the student’s name printed legibly on

  • the back.
  • The entry must contain the name of the library system: Appomattox Regional Library System

  • No entries will be returned.

  • One entry per student.

  • Entries must include the Parent Consent form

  • Entries are due NO LATER THAN JULY 31st, 2014.

  • Entries must be dropped off in person at one of the library’s eight locations.
