Brrr–it’s cold outside! The Winter Reading program is a great way to cuddle up and read during the cold winter months! Join us for “Snuggle with a Book”, sponsored by the Library of Virginia. The program is being offered alongside ARLS story times from February 3rd to March 5th.
Designed for young children from birth to six years old, the program aims to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children.
The Appomattox Regional Library System challenges you to read 30 books to your child in 30 days! Beginning on February 3, visit the library’s Winter Reading Program website here to create an account using your library card number. Then, for the next 30 days, log each book you read to your child. You may log one at a time or all 30 at once. At the end of the program, you will be able to print a completion certificate, which will be your ticket to a special Story Time party at your local branch during the week of March 10 – 14. Children who participate will also get to choose a prize book of their choice!
If you can’t access the site, please see our seasonal publication, EXPLORE, for a paper form to use instead.
