The Appomattox Regional Library System is proud to offer 7 libraries located within the city of Hopewell and the counties of Dinwiddie and Prince George.

 

Maude Langhorne Nelson Library - Headquarters Library in Hopewell, VA 209 East Cawson Street Hopewell, VA 23860 (804) 458-6329  (804) 861-0322 Fax: (804) 458-4349 From The North: Take I - 95 South towards Petersburg.  Take the VA Route 10 East exit - Exit 61 A towards Hopewell.  Take Route 10 East into Hopewell.  Go past John Randolph Columbia HCA Hospital.   At traffic light, take a left onto East Cawson Street.  The library is located in the middle of the large parking lot on the left hand side of the road. From The South: Take I 95 North towards Petersburg.  Take the VA Route 36 North exit. (Towards Hopewell)  Continue on Route 36 (Oaklawn Boulevard) Go past the Fort Lee Army Base.  You will continue on this road through the City of Hopewell (It will become Winston Churchhill Drive).  At the end of Route 36 you will come to Route 10.  Take a left at the stop light. Go through 3 more stop lights.  At the fourth stop light, take a sharp right onto East Cawson Street.  The library is located in the middle of the large parking lot on the left hand side of the road.

Burrowsville Library - Branch serving Burrowsville, VA - 1807 James River Drive Disputanta, VA 23842 (757) 866-0659 From the North:  Take I - 95 South towards Petersburg. Take the VA Route 10 East exit - Exit 61 A towards Hopewell.  Take Route 10 East into Hopewell. Take Route 10 East (E Randolph Road) approximately 14 miles past Hopewell. Arrive at 18701 James River Drive. From The South: Take I 95 North towards Petersburg. Take the VA Route 36 North exit. (Towards Hopewell) Continue on Route 36 (Oaklawn Boulevard) Go past the Fort Lee Army Base. You will continue on this road through the City of Hopewell (It will become Winston Churchhill Drive).At the end of Route 36 you will come to Route 10.Take a right at the stop light. Take Route 10 approximately 14 miles East and arrive at 18701 James River Drive.

Carson Depot Library - Branch serving Carson, VA 16101 Halligan Park Road Carson, VA 23830 (434) 246-2900 From the North:  Take Interstate 95 South to the Carson exit. (Exit 37)  Turn left on US Route 301. Take the first right onto US Route 623.  This road will turn into Halligan Park Road.  The library is located on the left hand side of the road prior to crossing the railroad tracks. From The South: Take Interstate 95 North to the Carson exit. (Exit 37).  At the stop sign, turn left onto Rt. 623 (Rowanty Rd).  Cross the bridge over Interstate 95.  At the stop sign, cross over US Route 301.  This road will turn into Halligan Park Road.  The library is located on the left hand side of the road prior to crossing the railroad tracks.

Dinwiddie Library -  Branch serving Dinwiddie Courthouse, VA 14103 Boydton Plank Road Dinwiddie VA 23841 (804) 469-9450 From the North: Take Interstate 95 South to Interstate 85 South.  Take the Dinwiddie Exit (Exit 53)  Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Merge on Route 703.  Continue straight until you come to US Route 1.  Take a left onto Route 1.  The library is located approximately 1 mile down Route 1 on the left. From the South: Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 85 South.  Take the Dinwiddie Exit (Exit 53)  Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Merge on Route 703.  Continue straight until you come to US Route 1.  Take a left onto Route 1.  The library is located approximately 1 mile down Route 1 on the left.

Disputanta Library - Branch serving Disputanta, VA 10010 County Drive Disputanta, VA 23842 (804) 991-2403 From the North :  Take Interstate 95 South to the Wagner Road exit. (Exit 48 A) Merge onto Wagner Road.  At the 2nd stop light take a right onto Route 460 East. Continue on Route 460 East for approximately 8 miles.  The library is located inside the Disputanta Community Center which is located next door to the Disputanta Volunteer Fire Department. From the South : Take Interstate 95 North to the Wagner Road exit. (Exit 48 A) Merge onto Wagner Road.  At the 2nd stop light take a right onto Route 460 East. Continue on Route 460 East for approximately 8 miles.  The library is located inside the Disputanta Community Center which is located next door to the Disputanta Volunteer Fire Department.

McKenney Library - Branch serving town of McKenney, VA 20707 First Street McKenney, VA 23872 (804) 478-4866 From the North:  Take Interstate 95 South to Interstate 85 South. Take the McKenney exit from Interstate 85 (Exit 42) Keep right on the exit ramp.  Turn right onto US Route 40.  Go over US Route 1.  Take a right onto First Street.  The library is located inside of the McKenney Town Hall, which is on the right hand side of the road across from the McKenney Hardware Store. From the South: Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 85 South. Take the McKenney exit from Interstate 85 (Exit 42) Keep right on the exit ramp.  Turn right onto US Route 40.  Go over US Route 1.  Take a right onto First Street.  The library is located inside of the McKenney Town Hall, which is on the right hand side of the road across from the McKenney Hardware Store.

Rohoic Library - Branch located in the Dinwiddie Community Enhancement Center 7301 Boydton Plank Road Petersburg, VA 23830 (804) 732-4119 From the North:  Take Interstate 95 South to Interstate 85 South. Take the US 460 West exit (Exit 61) towards Blackstone.  Keep left at the fork in the ramp.  Turn left on US Route 460 East.  Go straight until you come to the traffic light at the US Route 460 and US Route 1 intersection.  Turn right and continue on Route 1 for approximately 1 mile.  The library is located inside the new Eastside Community Enhancement Center. From The South: Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 85 South. Take the US 460 West exit (Exit 61) towards Blackstone.  Keep left at the fork in the ramp.  Turn left on US Route 460 East.  Go straight until you come to the traffic light at the US Route 460 and US Route 1 intersection.  Turn right and continue on Route 1 for approximately 1 mile.  The library is located inside the new Eastside Community Enhancement Center.
