Susan Greenbaum & Chris Parker to Perform

Come down to the Hopewell Library on Saturday, October 9, at 2 p.m. to enjoy a free performance by Susan Greenbaum and Chris Parker. The Hopewell/Prince George Friends of the library will provide light refreshments and door prizes but the main attraction will be the amazing music of Susan Greenbaum and Chris Parker.

The Susan Greenbaum Band (SGB) has won national acclaim for their performances of beautiful melodies with catchy hooks, intelligent lyrics, and always, Susan’s versatile voice and boundless energy. The most frequently heard comment at her gigs is, “Great songs–and how does all that big, beautiful sound come out of someone under five feet tall?” Susan and her band are also notorious for stepping up to the plate to play at benefits for nonprofit organizations throughout the Richmond area.

Chris Parker is the original drummer in the SGB. In addition to providing perfect, tasteful drum parts, Chris is an accomplished percussionist who is as comfortable on vibes, steel drum, Afro-Cuban conga and hand percussion as he is behind the drum set. He is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory (before it became Shenandoah University), and he also penned the most requested SGB tune, “The Squirrel Song.”
