Bookmobile
The Appomattox
Regional Library System’s bookmobile is a mobile library-on-wheels
that provides service to the communities served by ARLS. It stops at
schools and daycare centers to bring library services to the
community.
The selection of stops is based on a
variety of factors including distance from a community library,
mobility of customers, and service needs. A schedule of routes and
stops is published in the library’s patron newsletter which can be
accessed by clicking here. Suggestions of new stops are welcome.
Please call 458-6329 to make a suggestion.
The
bookmobile operates two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. The
bookmobile carries a rotating collection of material for both adults
and children. The collection includes books, magazines, videos,
books-on-tape and books-on-CD ... all the same types of material
that can be found in the Library's facilities.
Through
a wireless connection, the bookmobile can inform patrons immediately
as to the status of an item in the library collection. Items on
hold are brought to your stop for you as they become available.
