The branch that became the Dinwiddie Branch library has the distinction of having been located at various times in two different trailers. In 2000, the Dinwiddie Branch, ARLS, moved from its last trailer into the renovated Circuit Clerk’s Office in the historic Dinwiddie Courthouse complex. This historic setting puts the library next door to the Dinwiddie County Historical Society. The Friends of the Library Dinwiddie (FOLD) were pivotal in raising the funds that resulted in this well-loved branch library. They continue to be a valuable asset to the library system at large and the Dinwiddie Branch in particular, conducting book sales and special events at the branch. The Dinwiddie branch continues to be a focus of community involvement.

Freda Thomas has assisted visitors at Dinwiddie for four years, and newcomer Christie Woody for one year. Freda brings years of teaching skills to the branch, and Christie is ready and able to assist with all manner of reference and computer queries. Dinwiddie branch has over 3,000 registered patrons of various ranges served by their branch.  The Dinwiddie staff describes their busy branch as having a strong rapport with their patrons.
