Join the Appomattox Regional Library System at 4:30 Friday, March 5th for our “Seuss Celebration” in Hopewell as we mark the birth of Dr. Seuss, the 50th Anniversary of The Cat in the Hat, and celebrate the ending of our Winter Reading Program.
ARLS and the Hopewell Junior Women’s Club invite children of all ages to stop in to listen to some classic Dr. Seuss stories, make a craft, and play a game. Party gifts will be handed out and we’ll wrap up the event with Birthday cake and punch.
Remember: “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.” For more information on this and other programming at the library, please call 804-861-0322 or visit the library website at www.arls.org.

Help our wacky librarians celebrate the life and work of Dr. Seuss!

We’d like to send a big THANKS to all the parents, grandparents, caregivers and children who helped celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday! We had over 140 people stop in listen to stories, play games and share cake.
We’d like to especially thank our guest readers: Scott Firestine and Joan Lambert and most importantly the Hopewell Junior Women’s Club whose volunteers helped make this program a HUGE success!
