Seuss_ImageJoin the Appomattox Regional Library System at 4:30 Friday, March 5th for our “Seuss Celebration” in Hopewell as we mark the birth of Dr. Seuss, the 50th Anniversary of The Cat in the Hat, and celebrate the ending of our Winter Reading Program.

ARLS and the Hopewell Junior Women’s Club invite children of all ages to stop in to listen to some classic Dr. Seuss stories, make a craft, and play a game. Party gifts will be handed out and we’ll wrap up the event with Birthday cake and punch.

Enjoy free musical performances by local groups, every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the month of March at the Hopewell Library.

• Owen Brodie, songs and trivia of the bagpipes, March 11
• Johnny Jones Band, March 18
• Prince George High School Jazz Choir, March 25
The Hopewell Library will be hosting local musicians every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the month of March. The Fort Lee Jazz Band “Dixieland” ensemble will be the first presentation and will perform on March 4. This seven-man unit will thrill you with their virtuoso performances of standards from the history of American jazz. Come show your support for our troops!

On March 11, Owen Brodie will visit the library. Richmond resident Brodie will perform on the bagpipes, in full Scottish regalia. Brodie will also share historical lore and trivia on this most Celtic of musical instruments.

Children in grades K-5 and caregivers are invited to join the Appomattox Regional Library System for a family tea party Thursday, January 28th at 3:00 pm at the Hopewell Library.

The library welcomes families to join us for an afternoon of games, music, crafts, and of course food and tea! Space is limited and registration is required for both children and adults.  Sign up at the Information Desk at the Hopewell library or call the 804-861-0322.
